The Village Theatre's tower sign is lit again for the first time since July 2024. Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey opens there on 70mm on July 17, running three weeks. Then the doors close for a twelve-month restoration, and the block goes quiet again.
If you already live in Westwood or Century City, that timeline is the single most useful thing to know about this summer. The Village is not "reopening" in any lasting sense yet. It is available to you for a handful of weekends, on purpose, as a fundraiser for the larger rebuild. Everything else happening in the Village this summer, from the Hammer's Tuesday film nights to a run of new food arrivals on Broxton and Westwood Boulevard, sits inside that window.
